The north, the south-west and the middle of the island suit very different holidays.
Start with who you're travelling with. Families and groups who want quiet usually prefer the north or the centre, where houses have more land and the roads are calmer.
If the plan involves sunsets, beach clubs and nights out, the south-west keeps everything within a short drive.
